NOTE: After spending $$$$ on tooling and various prototypes, we have fitted Special Grade Flying Leads tubes with Custom Bakelite Bases developed in-house. It is a multi-step, labor intensive process. Each lead is straightened and cleaned to ensure perfect fusion with the base pins in the soldering bath. Process is painstakingly slow, so we will be adding a few tubes at a time to the inventory. Tubes are Plug & Play, Ready to Use, fitted with our Custom made Bakelite Bases (INTL Patent Application in Process). Flying Leads is the Premium Grade, High Reliability Long Life version of the corresponding Military Valve type (Click Here).

Dead quiet, transparent sound, yet extremely music | May 9, 2014 | Reviewer: Mute Bonger from Virgina | | Used as the input tubes in my homegrown OTL Aikido 5687-out headphone amp, the CV4109s are the quietest tubes from the 6DJ8 family I have ever tried. They’re the only tubes that when I insert my Fostex TH-900 (the most sensitive full size headphones I own), I can’t tell if the amp is powered on. Virtually no microphonics to boot.
They have a very detailed, articulate sound, yet they make music extremely easy to listen to. The CV4109 are among my top three favorites of the 6DJ8 family, along with the Holland E188CC and Mullard CV2493. The other two tubes are both warmer than the CV4109, but just a bit less refined.
Price is a bit steep, but remember that these tubes were built so well, that they were meant to be soldered in place. One set should last you many years, possibly a lifetime if your gear is easy on them. I tried the 1964 and 1967 versions and found both to sound about identical. The 1964 may be a touch warmer, but they are so close, I can’t really tell.
A top notch 12AX7 replacement | April 20, 2014 | Reviewer: Mute Bonger from Virgina | | I've tried dozens of 12AX7 type tubes in my heavily modified Jolida JD-502BRC/B&W 683 and these Mullard CV4035 easily make my top three. They have fast, accurate bass, a smooth, detailed treble and a touch of warmth in the mids. A good all-arounder.
I also have a pair of the Brimar CV4035, which I think sound very similar, with less warmth and maybe a slightly airier treble. The Brimar is perhaps a more transparent tube, but I think I prefer the sound of the Mullards. One can favor one over the other depending on gear and personal preferences; both are nice tubes. Compared to late '70s/early '80s versions of Mullard and Brimar boxed plate CV4004, these CV4035 have a lower noise floor and sound just slightly more refined.
About the only well known 12AX7 types I haven't tried are the Telefunken ECC803S and Gold Lions. My favorites include the Tesla frame grid E83CC, RCA black plate 12AX7, Tungsram stapled plate ECC83, CBS 7729 and Amperex and Mullard short/long plate ECC83. |

| | worth the cost | November 5, 2013 | Reviewer: me from Stamford, CT United States | | These are really nice tubes. I was very happy with my Sylvania black plate 5751s...until I tried these. I can't believe the difference in detail and dynamics with these tubes. Somehow they manage to provide dynamics and inner detail without sounding sterile or analytical, all the while maintaining that fabulous midrange presence. I bought a second pair for a rainy day. Highly recommended.

These tubes perform so well in my Virtue M5001 class D
monos that i decided to sell my primary monos amps (Lamm M1.2 ref. and
use these class D monos from Virtue Audio as my primary power amps.
These CV4035/M8214 tubes are that good. With the help of my Lamm LL2
Deluxe preamp which has the CV4109's and the CV4034 tubes from Tube
Monger, my Hi-end system sings like no other audio gear that i have ever
own and i have had many hi-end audio gear in the last tens years. These
tubes is a must to complete your system and save all that money you
have been spending on tube rolling. David Picarsic ..... Good Day!

I just replaced a nice pair of used 1968 Mullards with this pair. I have to say these are considerably better. I liked them so much I just purchased a second pair (for later). They
are sweet, have a wonderful soundstage and excellen bass. There is a
certain extra something I'm getting from all of my music.

I replaced all my 6922 tubes in my preamp and power
amp with these increditable tubes. I consider these tubes to be your
last stop. Afer you get these tubes in your system, you will no longer
looking to improve on upgrading your tubes in this category. These
CV4109 tubes should be listed as "Ultra Premium Grade".

IMO, the Brimar CV4035 is a very special tube and in
the top 2-3 best sounding in the 12AX7 family that I have tried. It
has great tone, fantastic dynamics, and excellent clarity. I use them
in a Hagerman Chime DAC and Trumpet phonostage and I am very pleased
with the results.

These tubes have been a significant improvement over
my previous tubes (Tungsram E88CC). They retain all the virtues of the
Tunsgram (detail, soundstaging and dynamics) with a noticably more
refined and less coloured midrange and treble. The sound remains smooth
and grain-free. I find they work best for classical music, particularly
in the rendition bowed string, woodwind and brass instruments.

| | Review of BRIMAR CV4033 tubes | November 17, 2013 | Reviewer: Don Sachs from Canada and US | | A bit of background. I rebuild vintage tube amps and preamps for my living and while I work on anything with tubes I specialize in Harman Kardon Citation tube gear. I have rebuilt over 40 Citation I preamps and have heard most of the 12AT7 variants in that preamp. I would say the CV4033 is easily the best I have heard so far. My previous favorite was the Brimar CV4024, but the CV4033 is better all around, more extended on top and in the bass. The best way to describe the CV4033 is that is has the clean extended sound of a Telefunken married with a touch of British tube warmth and very clean and extended bass. The Telefunken tubes can be a bit clinical sounding in some systems, but I doubt that would be a problem with the CV4033 from what I can hear. It is a wonderful tube and has the best imaging I have heard to date of any 12AT7 variant in my system. This pair is staying in my Citation I.

I purchased these to replace the EH 12AT7 tubes in my
Manley Mahis amps. After contacting tubemonger re suitable tubes they
suggested a Siemens and 2 Brimars one of which was this type.
The
sound of my amps changed quite dramatically. The harshness and coldness
in the mid was replaced by a much smoother and detailed sound, warmer
and more involving. Treble is smoother and not as upfront. Bass is deep
and more detailed somehow. Overall a great improvement.
The tubes sit on a black Plastic base and plug in as normal, this base is attached very well and no wobble has been noted.
I
tried a Brimar 6060 yellow T in this amp and preferred the cv 4033.
More life in the music, the 6060T sounded flat in comparison.
Overall a great upgrade to new tubes, not much cost and 10000 hr life. You can't lose.

The CV4033 tubes that I did buy will satisfy the 12AT7
tube rolling urge for a long time to come. These are in a totally
different league from the RFT and Electro Harmonix tubes tried
previously in Bottlehead Paramount amps. These tubes have warmth and
detail similar to what I experienced with Brimar 13D5 tubes used in a
Bottlehead Foreplay preamp.
Top recommendation for this rectifier | October 2, 2014 | Reviewer: M Sawyer from London UK | | Using the Brimar CV4001 in an EE Minimax preamp with Creek Destiny SS amp. I have used many Mullard/Philips EZ90 and Marconi/Osram U78 rectifiers and this one tops them all. It has an open 3D soundstage with a lot of air around instruments and voices and reproduces their tone in a vivid and realistic manner. Brushes moving over drum heads, cymbals, hand claps, plucking of strings, vibraphone pings, etc. sound clear and crisp. Also a lot better bass, PRAT and dynamic punch that sounds really musical and synergizes well with the great midrange of early NOS Mullard 12au7s. Will mention the great service as Tubemonger provided a replacement tube for free when my first order got delayed in the mail - no questions asked.
| U78 on steroids | April 13, 2013 | Reviewer: M Sawyer from London UK | | This rectifier has an incredible and deep 3D soundstage - the best I've heard among the 1950s era EZ90s and U78s. It is like a Marconi or Osram U78 on steroids- more detail and punch, huge taut bass and a really powerful and dynamic sound. Fills in the sound when using bass shy 12au7s like Mullards or Cifte-Mazda. Excellent recordings like ECM jazz sound superb. Using in EE Minimax preamp.

Audio Bliss | February 8, 2014 | Reviewer: Finn Mölmen from Oslo, Norway | | A week after ordering I received a pair of nicely packed Brimar CV4034’s with bakelite base and new pins, all shiny and appearing brand new. They are to replace a pair of Brimar 13D5’s, that unfortunately create a steady hissing sound. In my preamp CV4034’s possess the supreme, sonic beauty I have grown so addicted to with the 13D5’s, and sound even better than the 13D5’s! And they are of course dead silent. With the new old stock pin-fitted Brimar CV4034 in my gear • dynamics are enhanced, • treble clarity is almost paranormal yet sweet and pleasent, • midrange presence makes me fall in love with the singers through their voice, • bass is manly yet perfectly controlled to make the music play with enticing rhythm, • sound stage is revealingly three-dimensional, • there is no instrument meandering, the positioning is rock solid. Every other pair of tubes I may buy in the future will only serve to prove the supremacy of these tubes. A real bargain – a tremendous upgrade.
Excellent tubes | February 21, 2014 | Reviewer: Jeff | | These are the best 12au7 type tubes I've tried by a long shot. I have a Unison Research Simply Italy amplifier, and these tubes absolutely brought it to life. I tried a number of other highly regarded tubes including the RCA clear tops, Mazda Cifte, RT, etc, but the Brimar are in an entirely different league. They are crystal clear, detailed and just beautiful to listen to. Zero listening fatigue, and I can hear into a recording like never before. Don't waste your money on the others. Just buy these and be done with it all.

I am going to make this simple. All the great things
you have read about the siemens/telefunkel tubes, multiply that by 2 and
you get Brimar CV4034. This is a must have to step your highend system
to the next level.
