Description Technical Specs

NOTE: After spending $$$$ on tooling and various prototypes, we have fitted Special Grade Flying Leads tubes with Custom Bakelite Bases developed in-house. It is a multi-step, labor intensive process. Each lead is straightened and cleaned to ensure perfect fusion with the base pins in the soldering bath. Process is painstakingly slow, so we will be adding a few tubes at a time to the inventory.

Tubes are Plug & Play, Ready to Use, fitted with our Custom made Bakelite Bases (INTL Patent Application in Process).

TUBE BASE ON THESE IS SLIMMER, SO THAT IT WOULD WORK WITH SOCKETS WITH COLLARS IN ADDITION TO ALL REGULAR SOCKETS.

Brand New MINT NOS Rare 1967 Mullard CV4109 Military tubes. CV4109 Flying Lead is Premium Grade, High Reliability Long Life version of E188CC CV4108 7308 valves. (Click Here to read about Flying Leads Valves).

SJ0 R7xx
1967 Mitcham Plant Date Codes. Made in Gt. Britain. Date codes on these flying leads CV4109 are painted on instead of etched codes found on regular versions. Handle with care. Labels are a bit fragile on these tubes and Codes may be partially rubbed off due to bulk storage (Click on LARGER PICTURE to see bulk boxes).

This 1960s Halo Getter Mullard E188CC variant is more desirable than the dimple disk getter tubes from the 70s. In our experience, these are probably the best E188CC/CV4108/7308 type tube made by Mullard.

These tubes are one of a kind. No refunds, exchanges or tube rolling at our expense as it says in the Terms and Conditions on the web site.

Tested and matched on Top of the Line Calibrated Hickok 580 Lab Grade Tester. New E188CC tests in the 10,500 - 11000 mmhos range.

Single Tube = $163. Select 2 for a Matched Pair or 4 for a Matched Quad. Odd number of tubes will be matched also.

5 of 5 Dead quiet, transparent sound, yet extremely music May 9, 2014
Reviewer: Mute Bonger from Virgina
Used as the input tubes in my homegrown OTL Aikido 5687-out headphone amp, the CV4109s are the quietest tubes from the 6DJ8 family I have ever tried.  They’re the only tubes that when I insert my Fostex TH-900 (the most sensitive full size headphones I own), I can’t tell if the amp is powered on.  Virtually no microphonics to boot.

They have a very detailed, articulate sound, yet they make music extremely easy to listen to.  The CV4109 are among my top three favorites of the 6DJ8 family, along with the Holland E188CC and Mullard CV2493.  The other two tubes are both warmer than the CV4109, but just a bit less refined.

Price is a bit steep, but remember that these tubes were built so well, that they were meant to be soldered in place.  One set should last you many years, possibly a lifetime if your gear is easy on them.  I tried the 1964 and 1967 versions and found both to sound about identical.  The 1964 may be a touch warmer, but they are so close, I can’t really tell.

5 of 5 My preferred 6DJ8 family tube for classical October 17, 2010
Reviewer: Anonymous Person from Australia
These tubes have been a significant improvement over my previous tubes (Tungsram E88CC). They retain all the virtues of the Tunsgram (detail, soundstaging and dynamics) with a noticably more refined and less coloured midrange and treble. The sound remains smooth and grain-free. I find they work best for classical music, particularly in the rendition bowed string, woodwind and brass instruments.
