  • RFT tubes can crack if you try to force these into sockets. Be very careful and gentle when inserting or removing the tubes.
  • Flashing pattern can vary between tubes from the same batch. It is normal.
Matched Pairs, Brand New, MINT NOS Late 1960s Funkwerk RFT EL84 Tubes with Alpha 6BQ5 Label. East German Production. These welded plate tubes are more desirable than the later stapled plate RFT's. Packed in generic while boxes from bulk.

Tube labels are a bit fragile since the early chalky printing comes off easily. Siemens, Telefunken amongst others also relabeled RFT tubes in 1970s-80s.

Tested and matched on Top of the Line Calibrated Hickok 580 Lab Grade Tester. 65% = 7000 mmhos on this tester.

Purchased these and took for an initial spin for a few hours. These are really punchy and not short on bass. I would not classify these as warm or neutral. A ways away from my Mullards and Mazdas. More dynamic than Tunsgram. Performed very well with a couple jazz albums, for which these are quite well suited. I also think they will perform well in chamber music and rock n roll. Looking forward to breaking in.

Excellent tubes... Got them for a ZMF Pendant, an important step up over the old good Silvanias I was using.  They have a similar tonality and qualities of the EL84 Telefunkens (fast, controlled with sweet and clean mids).  
To my ears this RFT´s are close if not equal to the telefunken´s transparency.....just with a touch of more slam and warmth in the low end.
A total bang for the buck.
